  • My car was hit today !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm absolutely GUTTED The car was hit by an artic this afternoon, the saving grace was it was only a glancing blow and very little damage was caused.

Here are a few pictures of the damage, the marks on the wing and door are hard to see but I've tried to show them, the mark on the wing goes from the headlight down the wing under the mirror, hopefully this should polish out but it's going to need a new wheel and a new mirror cover.

The damage on the wing and door was done by the trailer rubber side marker.
The mirror damage was done by the rear corner of the trailer.
The wheel damage was done by the rear nudge/crash bar.

    Front wing
    Front wing 2
    Door mirror
    Road wheel

    Sorry to hear about that

As a HGV driver myself, I must say the standard of some HGV drivers driving is appalling, Especially the ones that do the *shake 'n' bake* guaranteed pass in 2 weeks courses they teach them to pass a test, not to drive

The driver was in his early fifties, he couldn't apologies enough & admitted liability straight away so I couldn't fault him really..... after all it could have been ALOT worse.

That was good of him to admit, were told not to even if we are clearly the cause of the accident

Sorry to hear about your car.

The last I had a coming together with an artic, I came off a lot worse.

I hit the rear crash bar on the trailer at about 20mph (ish) and my Mk3 Astra was a write off - not that I claimed (my fault). It split the drivers side chassis leg, needed a bonnet, wings, headlights, indicators, power steering pump, radiator the list went on.

Bad luck there Rob, but at least you walked away in one piece and the car got away with minor damage, HGVs can do a lot of damage

That's a bummer Rob, at least liability has
been admitted. Not a hit n run in some car park.

That won't happen I NEVER leave the car parked anywhere unattended, it drives Dawn mad sometimes but with the amount of unscrupulous people around what can you do
