Yet another part of unenforceable Euro legislation.....what about cars that are no longer "made" eg MG/Rover etc, the Stealers aren't ineterested on working on cars that they actually have to work on. If its not plug and play/replacing bits under warranty, they don't really give a toss...that tends to be why they price "hard" jobs exorbitantly.
Quick example.....
Oil contamination in father-in-laws DiscoTD5 ecu/injector loom making it run on 4cylinders......dealer quote..."£1150+vat for a new loom sir"......actual cost/labour.....£5 for a can of carb cleaner to flush the loom, £3 for a tube of RTV to seal the offending multiplug.....and about 45mins of my time (ok so thats priceless) They just couldn't be @rsed with the hassle of stripping and cleaning the loom.
Did they not talk about this a while back but it was seen to be in contravention of the competiton/fair trade laws?
