Updated: 19th January 2015
We reserve the right to amend the below rules without prior notice.

1.1 At the end of the day this is our house and there are house rules. You are welcome to be a guest in our house, but if you do not agree with our rules then stay out of the house.

1.2 Spamming/trolling/flaming/disruptive behaviour and inappropriate posting will not be tolerated

1.3 People are allowed to have their own opinion, sometimes it will not fit in with yours, accept it. If you believe a post has gone too far then report it.

1.4 Access to the Trade Centre will be granted after a member has been registered on Vauxhall Drivers' Club (hereon referred to as VxDC)
as a Full member for at least one month and have created 20 constructive posts. Once access has been granted to the Trade Centre members must remain constructively active within the forum. When completed then the thread should be reported so that it can be closed/removed by the team. Under exceptional circumstances where members do not meet the above requirements the moderator team can use their discretion to allow the advert to remain within the trade centre.

1.5 Payment for goods MUST be conducted through PayPal 'Goods' not 'Friends and Family' (previously gift), any person paying via 'Friends and Family' will not receive any assistance from the team in the event of a dispute. The exceptions to this would be paying for the goods on a face to face deal or were the seller accepts payment by credit card. No seller will refuse to accept PayPal 'Goods', the fees must be factored into the price stated in the advert, a seller found to be breaching this rule will have their sales access removed. A sales advert MUST have a picture of the goods offered together with the seller's username and the date clearly visible. We class swaps as a sale, even if posted as such in the wanted section and pictures as above must be included.

If a person decides to leave the site and becomes historic, but then decides to return to the site, they will be treated as new member and will require 50 posts in 30 days to regain sales access.

Should either of the account holders receive an infraction or ban then said infraction/ban is against the account.

4.1 Although the Administrators and Moderators of VxDC will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, we cannot be responsible for message content. All messages express the views of the author. The owners, admin and moderators of the forum accept no responsibility for the views expressed within this forum by the authors/members.

4.2 The owners or the representatives of VxDC may remove; edit, move, or close topics they feel do not follow the rules.

4.3 VxDC is not responsible for anything you do as a result of information or advice obtained at this site.

4.4 This is a non age-restricted forum, please use good judgement when choosing user names, avatars, or images to post, and do not attempt to bypass the word filter. It is there for a reason. Any thread with questionable content, should be labelled as such in the topic title. E.g. NWS (not work safe). If the post is not marked then a moderator may change or edit your post to suit. If you are unsure if a subject is suitable for the site then seek advice from a moderator before posting.

4.5 Use your judgment to post in the correct forum section. Any post not in the correct section may be moved without prior notice to the correct forum.

4.6 When quoting another poster please ensure you do NOT include any photos, not only does this impact on our bandwidth it can be quite frustrating to have to scroll through numerous photos many times on the same thread.

4.7 Personal attacks, rudeness, flaming, baiting, insults to others, or arguments will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully. Please refrain from making excessive negative comments. As the saying goes "If you have nothing nice to say then don't say it". Any member found breaking rule 4.7 will be automatically given a one week ban from the site.

4.8 Any member who threatens anyone on the forum, via PM, instant messengers or Email, will be banned immediately without notice. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. Our decision is always final in these matters.

(Unless of course permission has been granted by the author or credit to the author has been given as per the terms of a licence/contract for usage.) Likewise any posts that seek, discuss or encourage copyright infringement will be removed.

4.12 Blatant spamming of threads is not allowed and any such posts will be removed without notice, please also keep on topic.

4.13 Reposts: Members posting useful topics on VxDC are to be encouraged. Anyone found to be repeatedly complaining about topics being posted simply because they have seen them already, are liable to receive an infraction. If you have seen a post already, please move on and look at another thread. For every member who has already seen something there's likely 10 members who haven't, and for them it's not a repost at all, so no need to make the thread starter feel bad for contributing to the site. Having said that the forum has a search button, please use this first to see if a topic or question is already being discussed to avoid a repost.

4.14 Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

4.15 Please make sure you have permission to show number plates in photographs posted on VxDC - with the advent of cloning we suggest that number plates are masked out.

4.17 Whilst we (VxDC) appreciate that our members can be affiliated with other clubs and forums, as a matter of courtesy to admin and other members any advertising or promotion of events and/or forums NOT related to VxDC must be passed to the moderation/admin team for compliance prior to posting on the general forum or events areas.
Failure to inform admin and gain approval will lead to the deletion of the post/topic without prior notice.

4.18 Any problems with members or content from competing forums must not be brought to the VxDC threshold...We will not tolerate or be party to Inter-Club disagreements online or at any events.

4.19 We accept that Performance Vauxhalls and the VXR Range attract those who are interested in 'spirited' driving, however there is a time and a place for exploiting said performance, i.e. the track and the strip, the VXR Power Events programme offers excellent opportunities. However VxDC does not condone racing on public roads, any threads relating to such actions will be removed.

5.1 Any post or thread may be removed at a moderator’s discretion without informing the post / thread author of the reason. We simply do not have the time nor the inclination to PM every member whose post we choose to moderate – roll with it! (please do not question moderating decisions on the forum (if you have a query contact a moderator/ admin via PM).

5.2 The moderation team may at times have to resort to some form of infraction against members whose conduct is deemed worthy of such action, we will try to illustrate what we mean but there will always be an occasion where action is required to be taken over an unforeseen set of circumstances.

5.3 Any forum member found, either starting a thread or posting inappropriate content, whether directly on a thread or by a link to another site, will be banned for a period of seven days WITHOUT further notice.

5.9 No forum member shall start a thread or post a comment in relation to sexuality or racism. This type of content may result in the forum member being banned from the site permanently and without further warning.
Trolling will not be allowed.

5.10 If a forum member would like to post a thread, but is unsure as to the content, then they are advised to send it to one of the Admin/Mod team for approval or rejection.

5.11 All forum members should realise and appreciate that this site is primarily for car enthusiasts and is directed at all ages of persons with an interest in Vauxhall/Opel/Bedford/Holden brands and motoring in general.

5.12 We accept that members have a passion for cars and members may change allegiances to or from the Vauxhall/Opel/Bedford/Holden brands. Information on other Marques may be posted in the General section of the forum as may threads about members non Vauxhall vehicles, however the member will be restricted to one thread for that vehicle.

5.12 As with any brand there will be some unsatisfied customers, Vauxhall have in place a customer service department to deal with complaints, this should be the first point of call. Sometimes a member will feel that they are not receiving the treatment they expect, we do not expect to see a detrimental post, send a private message to a moderator who will attempt to get some assistance.

5.13 A member who changes brand is welcome to remain on the site however they will be expected to remain courteous to the other members and the Vauxhall/Opel/Bedford/Holden brands.

11.8 The organising of large multi-regional stands can prove difficult at times...we ask that Members, Organisers and Club Staff be flexible and cooperative if onsite changes need to be made.

If any of these terms and conditions are determined to be invalid or unenforceable by reason of the application of any law, such provisions shall be severed and deleted from these terms and conditions BUT the remainder of these terms and conditions shall continue to have full force and effect.

» Trader Rules

1.1 Traders now have a dedicated 'Trader Offers' area, offers/extended discounts should be displayed in this 'read only' area that can only be viewed by Full Members so as to secure discount codes.

1.2 Traders will not be restricted to that area and can post in most areas of the site, the exception being the sales sections which will be restricted to private sales by members.

1.3 A Trader may point to their shop/website via their signature, however spamming of threads to highlight this will not be condoned, nor will deliberate bumping of the original thread.

1.4 VxDC accept no responsibility (legal or otherwise) for any transactions, services, goods or information supplied by Traders.
